Youth with a Mission - Liepaja Latvia is organizing a creative arts project for the children of YWAM staff members. We know that YWAM is an organization with deep traditions of creative expressions. We also believe that Arts is a powerful way to influence the world. Our desire is to see a new, strong and creative generation that would be ready for a new challenge to influence their peers through the visual arts.
Our goal and task is:
1. To facilitate the development of the creative abilities of the children and youth stating their opinion with means of expression of the visual arts;
2. To realize, to see and to show God’s works in my life and family.
(The work of my family in YWAM – importance and significance in the specific location);
3. To realize the significant true values of our own and other cultures (to find the most distinctive and different ones);
4. To provide an opportunity for children to exhibit their work in an international exhibition.
5. To facilitate the cooperation between the children and youth of Latvia and another country.

Contestants: The children and teenagers of YWAM staff, partners and friends.
Theme: CREATIVE FOR THE NATIONS
Procedure of the contest:
The contestants submit
1. Works of visual arts (drawings, paintings in any technique, photography can be used, photographic pictures, that are supplemented with drawings or processed with computer programs; there can be collages (appliqué) and other techniques).
2. The work in addition needs to have a story or description (up to 10 sentences), which should explain and complement the work itself. (You should indicate your child’s Name, Last name, age, the Country and the YWAM base or location, postal address and the email of the parents.)
3. The works should be submitted until 28st of february, 2010, desirable via post to the following address:

4. The maximum size of the works – A3.
5. The works that are submitted for the contest will be posted on the YWAM LATVIA home page www.ywam.lv from the moment they are received as well as on www.blogs.ywam.lv/fluris
6. Contest – exhibition will be held in March of 2010 in Latvia. (Re: other exhibitions the information will be posted on the YWAM Latvia home page.)
Evaluation of the contest:
The works will be evaluated in 3 age groups:
• up to 7 years of age;
• 8 to 11 years of age;
• 12 to 15 years of age;
The organizer rights: The organizers are allowed to keep the best works of visual arts for the organization of exhibition, use the works for different presentation needs, referring to the author of the work.
